Infant & Toddler Program

At Dover Learning Center, our Infant & Toddler Program is thoughtfully designed for children 0–36 months, supporting their natural curiosity and love for exploration. Infants & Toddlers learn primarily through their senses, so we’ve created a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment filled with sensory toys, engaging textures, and opportunities to explore the world around them.
We know that saying goodbye for the first time can be challenging. That’s why we work closely with your family to create a gentle and individualized transition plan to help your child feel comfortable and secure. Before their first day, we’ll discuss your child’s unique needs, including nap routines, diapering, and feeding preferences, ensuring a smooth transition from home to our care.

Your Infant’s & Toddler's Day

Each infant & Toddler  is supported in following their own established routine while benefiting from dedicated one-on-one care, thanks to our low educator-to-child ratio. Our caring educators help infants & Toddlers develop confidence, security, and independence in a warm, loving group setting.
Our infant & Toddler program is carefully tailored to meet developmental milestones at each child’s own pace, supporting growth in:

  • Sensory exploration and sound recognition

  • Fine and gross motor skills (crawling, sitting, standing)

  • Hand-eye coordination

  • Self-feeding and independence

  • Early communication and language development

We follow an emergent curriculum that focuses on four key areas of growth:

  1. Language Development – introducing early words, songs, and finger plays

  2. Fine and Gross Motor Skills – encouraging safe movement and exploration

  3. Sensory & Science – hands-on experiences to spark curiosity

  4. Social & Emotional Skills – helping infants feel safe, respected, and loved

Engaging Activities

Our infants & Toddlers are encouraged to explore and discover through play every day. From finger painting and block building to music and story time, every activity is designed to stimulate creativity and support growth.
For more advanced infants, we also introduce:

  • Basic Sign Language to promote early communication

  • Gentle Yoga-inspired movement to foster a mind-body connection

  • Exposure to new languages to enrich early learning experiences

Nutrition

We understand the importance of healthy snacks in supporting infant & Toddlers growth. Our centre provides nutritious  snacks, carefully prepared to meet dietary needs and introduce infants & Toddler to a variety of flavours and textures. Nursing parents are always welcome to visit and feed their child in a quiet, private space provided for your comfort.

Parent Communication

We value strong partnerships with families. To keep you connected, we provide daily updates about your child’s naps, meals, diapering, and milestones, as well as photos and stories from their day. This open communication ensures your child’s experience at Dover Learning Center blends seamlessly with home life.
